Secretariat for Parishes
To assist parishes to achieve their pastoral goals
Our work
The Secretariat for Parishes is the entity within the Episcopal Vicariat for Pastoral Coordination responsible for assisting, monitoring and coordinating pastoral work in the parishes. It is led by Rev. André Zaffarese, Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Coordination. Its purpose is to help parishes identify emerging pastoral needs, assist them in preparing for them and support them in their implementation. The secretariat gives great importance to the formation of pastoral workers within the parishes and the work of the Parish Pastoral Council. It carries out its duties hand-in-hand with other vicariates, secretariats, commissions, and entities, especially with the College of Parish Priests.
Some of the services offered by the Secretariat offers, there are:
Training
We coordinate training for pastoral workers in various areas related to parish ministries. We ensure the quality of training while reducing the organizational burden on parishes.
Guidelines, Directives and Policies
Together with various diocesan entities, we ensure that the guidelines for the various ministries are updated so that pastoral operators know better what is expected of them.
From time to time, we issue directives and policies to facilitate the pastoral work of parishes and assist them in their work so that it always remains relevant and current.
Consultation
Through a team of professionals and experts, we provide suggestions and assistance in requests from parish priests regarding particular aspects of pastoral care in the parish.
Resources
In collaboration with parishes and various other entities, we share various pastoral practices that can help parishes achieve their goals.
